Time for self-care

TIME FOR SELF-CARE

My Grand Daughter Lynn came to visit me a while ago. She gave me a painting that she made for me, saying, Grammy, this reminds me of how good you are at taking care of yourself. I smiled and gave her a warm hug, saying thank you, it is beautiful. I will keep it as a reminder to remember how important self-care is.

After she left, I sat down and looked at the painting. I knew how far away I was from every message from the image.
I was all in my mind, working with too many projects beside my private life. Where was my body, heart and spirit?

So, TIME FOR A CHANGE!
Time for moments of self-care every day. Moments filled with introspection, body work and meditation.
After reading the fantastic book “Hello Down There” by our colleague Alex Milspaw, I have also started tapping every day, and it helps to slow me down and reduce stress.

The painting is in a golden frame and hangs on the wall over my computer. The woman in the teacup reminds me to take care of myself.

Do you have a sweet image or object to remind you? Now is the time to take care of ourselves in all aspects; Mind-Body-Heart and Spirit. Now is the time to slow down for a while, from all the must-do-things and take a moment to just be – and not perform.

Take care of yourselves, and I promise to take care of me!
