How to Become Certified as a 4-D wheel Practitioner or Educator….

There is no fee for becoming Certified as a 4-D Wheel Practitioner/Educator, or for annual re-certification.

Certification is maintained through annual demonstration of ongoing collegial contribution to the 4-D Network. If you cannot contribute in the ways we suggest and still want to remain part of the 4-D Network, there will be an annual fee and fewer benefits. Annual certification begins on date of signature (renewal notice will be sent 30 days before expiry)

1. Professional Requirements*

State Licensure (or equivalent) to practice as health provider, educator, or other relevant profession and/or AASECT certification as sex therapist, counselor, educator, or supervisor
Proof of professional liability insurance
A current active professional practice
Maintain a vital 4-D Wheel presence on your professional website (details to be mutually determined; we will send you a page to add, and assist you in loading it to your website)

*NOTE: We understand that not all qualified professionals can meet these requirements, and we will adjust requirements for 4-D wheel members from other countries, professional affiliations, etc.

2. Prerequisites, Training and Supervision in the 4-D Wheel Approach

Minimum of Condor membership
Completion of Extraordinary Sex Therapy and Expanding the Practice of Sex Therapy Online Courses
Read Expanding the Practice of Sex Therapy—Write an Amazon review if you haven’t already
Read Exploring Desire and Intimacy (workbook)—Write an Amazon review if you haven’t already
Individual supervision with Kamara McAndrews, or Tina Nevin, or other 4-D Network core faculty member (number of hours to be mutually decided)
Active participation in a minimum of:
- one 4-D Wheel Retreat, and
- one 4-D Wheel Training, and
- one Train-the-Trainer week with Kamara McAndrews & Tina Nevin or
- intensive supervision with a 4-D Network core faculty member

(alternatively) some of these requirements can be fulfilled by on-line or long-distance supervision and participation in monthly conference calls.

3. Demonstration of 4-D Wheel Expertise—e.g.:

Create, promote, and conduct a 4-D Wheel Retreat, and/or
Create, promote, and conduct a 4-D Wheel Training, and/or
Create, promote, and conduct a 4-D Wheel protocol for a distinct population, and/or
Create, promote, and conduct a 4-D Wheel online course, and/or
Create a 4-D Wheel video presentation, and/or
Create a 4-D Wheel publication

4. Ongoing Contribution to The 4-D Network via one or more of the following:

Co-lead events with Kamara McAndrews, Tina Nevin, or other 4-D Network certified providers
Create a 4-D Wheel event for self and/or others
Offer 4-D wheel events at conferences and elsewhere
Teach a 4-D Wheel class
Train students in the 4-D Wheel approach
Promote 4-D Wheel events for self and/or others—via social media, listservs, etc.
Contribute to an on-line 4-D Wheel course
Blog for the 4-D Network website
Other

5. Contribution to The 4-D Network

Maintain a vital 4-D wheel presence on your professional website (details to be mutually determined)
Promote 4-D wheel events for self and/or others—via website, social media, listservs, etc.
Blog for the 4-D Network website…etc.

4-D Network Memorandum of Understanding

In opting for 4-D Wheel Certification, I agree to the following:

To hold the 4-D Network and any of its members harmless in the event of any legal issues that involve me or my work.
To maintain a professional website (if you need a website or upgrading, we can offer recommendations for assistance).
To maintain a 4-D section on my website. We will provide a template for this and help you load it to your website.
To consider putting 4-DNetwork in my e-mail signature.
To list all my 4-D events on the 4-D Website.
To cite 4-DNetwork.com on any presentations, posters, blogs etc. from which I draw 4-D material.
To fully credit the 4-D Network when I use the 4-D approach in retreats, trainings, or courses—in person or online.
To be aware of other 4-D events being offered so that I complement them rather than compete with them. For instance: I agree to schedule my 4-D events at least a month before or after other 4-D events that draw from a similar clientele in a particular geographical area; and I agree to schedule on-line events and courses with similar sensitivity.
